We get asked this a lot. Living in Minnesota, battling against winter is more of an art, than a science. But the lowdown is this: 1) It isn't terribly safe for us to drive our trailer, which carries thousands of pounds of water, in potentially icy conditions. 2) Our 3000+ PSI, 360 degree rotating sprayheads, of which we have two, cost thousands of dollars each. Water freezing inside this would be bad. 3) You probably don't want us spraying the outside of your bin and having that water drip onto the ground and freezing, right outside of your house and/or driveway. 4) Bins tend to not get nearly as bad in the cold weather months. For all of these reasons, we prefer to play it safe in the winter. So here's how it works: Once the weather gets below freezing and/or snow is falling and accumulating, MN Bin Bath bin cleaning services will go on "pause." Think of this like as if you were playing a videogame and paused. If you are a subscribing customer, we will pause all of the upcoming schedule in place at the time of the pause, and once the weather is above freezing and driving conditions seem all right, we will start services back up. NO, YOU DON'T CONTINUE TO GET CHARGED MONTHLY, QUARTERLY, ETC. WHILE OUR SERVICES ARE PAUSED. During the middle of Winter, if we get an extended stretch of 40-45+ degree weather in the forecast (1-2 weeks worth), we will reach out to subscribers next up in our cue for the corresponding days of the week we'd like to get out on a bin cleaning run, to see if they have interest in an additional clean. If not, no big deal -- you're welcome to say you're good for now if you are. Or, the Winter pause could last all the way until March, April, or even later -- again, weather dependent; the "April-November" is just an approximation. So, let's say winter goes long, and finally by mid April the weather is creeping into the 40's. At this time, we will begin by notifying those who we've scheduled of when we aim to resume services. While we are on pause, you will not be charged anything (said again for emphasis). If, before the pause occurs, you get billed a week before your scheduled cleaning date -- and then as we get closer to the scheduled date the weather turns sour and we need to cancel the cleaning, we will reach out to you about rescheduling options, refund, etc. You are also welcome to contact us anytime with any question -- the last thing we want is for you to be uncertain about something. All of this said, all you need to know is this: when we do go on pause, we'll let you know. Anytime in the fall, feel free to request an additional cleaning before the season winds down and ends, if you wish. We certainly can see how a quarterly customer who gets a cleaning in early October may want another cleaning in late November, just to ensure their bins stay a little more pleasant during the pause. Additionally, when we start back up in the Spring, we are always receptive about not forcing a bin cleaning on someone who feels like their bins are still clean. We take it as a compliment if we schedule you in the Spring for your first bin cleaning of the year, and you contact us to request we delay the resumption of your service because "they're still clean." We sincerely do understand that our purpose is to be a convenient service for you, when you want it; and as such, we are never going to force a customer to get a cleaning when they say their bins are still clean and they don't need this round of bin cleanings yet. We hope this helps clarify some questions we've been asked about the winter pause, but if not, don't hesitate to reach out via email: info@mnbinbath.com
